Coming Home

This past weekend I had the privilege of speaking at a holistic health and psychic fair in Ashland Wisconsin. It was a cold blustery day and Lake Superior was still frozen over, signs of a late arriving spring.  As we set up our booth for the event, the energies in the conference room were incredibly powerful.  I am certain it is because of the Lake just outside our windows.  As the people started streaming in, a level of energy was reached that I can only express as “coming home”.  I felt this kinship with all the people there.  I felt like “these are my people”.  When I spoke about shamanism and the star ancestors, and the ascension the planet is now moving through, these people knew what I was talking about.  And the discussions after the talk were so welcomed by everyone.  When our time was up a few people walked out, but most stayed, wanting to hear more.  We were all speaking the same soul language.

I often have this feeling of “coming home” when I am at Lake Superior.  I have been coming to the south shore of Lake Superior (in Wisconsin) for about 25 years.  I often say that Lake Superior holds my heart.  I really do have a love affair with the lake.  I remember the time when I came to the Lake, alone, hoping to heal some of the grief from the death of my son.  The Lake offered comfort to me in such a beautiful way.  I laid down on a huge rock that jutted up a few inches above the water.  I had taken off my clothes to feel the smoothness of the rock on my skin, and as I laid there, with the sun shining down, a wave came and the cool water rushed over my warmed body.  And again, and again, the water moved in a rhythm over me that comforted me.  I realized that the Lake was actually making love to me.  The Lake was my lover.

Coming to Ashland this time was like that experience for me but in a different way.  I had not realized how much my soul had missed the energies of the Lake.  I realized that the energies of the Lake and her people were re-connecting me again with my heart.  And I felt so welcomed, so loved and so “at home”.  I felt that I had come home to family.  It was this energy that my soul has been seeking all winter.

Right now as I write this my heart is craving those energies of the Lake and of her people.  The people at the fair exuded an energy of light, and balance and openess and love.  I know I need to return there soon to feel those energies again of “coming home” and to visit with the Lake that holds my heart.
