Shamanic Retreat: Answering the Call of the Ancestors
with Jeanne Marie Troge, MA
November 7, 8, 9th, 2014 at Camp Knutson, Crosslake, MN
Begins with supper on Friday at 5:30pm and ends by Noon on Sunday
This Fall, we will be looking at Answering the Call of the ancestors to service. What does that mean? How can it happen? What might be required of us? How does this connect with the star ancestors and star visitors? We will look at where we started and where we are now in moving into our deepest knowing of who we truly are and the mission we have undertaken.
We will begin Friday evening with a welcoming ceremony, a drumming and opening the circle for the weekend. We will blow the Peruvian Whistling Vessels allowing their energies to connect us to the Universe. In trance dance we will then dance our intentions for the weekend, setting a strong foundation of light, love and intent. For those who choose not to dance, there will be a guided meditation experience available as an alternative activity.
On Saturday morning we will drum up the sun and after breakfast dance our chakras into balance with Wendy. We will then gather in Timberlane and talk about and journey to the Tuatha de Danaan and learn about their history and magic. I’m not sure yet how this all fits in, but there are connections with my New Mexico trip and the star ancestors. I’m hoping this will become clearer after my second trip to New Mexico. Troy Schmit will again lead us into a powerful energy grid and meditation experience to heighten the energies for the weekend and send out our call to the star ancestors.
Saturday afternoon we will do some healing work with the Spirit Canoe and the afternoon will end with a Heart of the Earth yoga and meditation session with Judy Merritt. Our hearts will be full!
The evening session is a little sketchy at this time. Elissa Stevens and I have been discussing ways to do our tribal art in a form of ritual and of course we will also empower ourselves and the art with the Jaguar dance. There’s more to come here yet, but this is where we are at the moment. Of course we will end the day with drumming, dancing, moving, jumping, dragon breathing around the fire.
. Following the fire ceremony we may re-enter the grid energies, calling upon our star ancestors, asking for contact, healing, and understanding. Lying on your back on the earth, looking up at the stars, is an awesome experience!
Sunday morning, after breakfast/brunch, we will again end our time together with our community healing ceremony. Through the use of water, lavender, cedar, and roses, and drumming and song, we provide healing for each person present. We will end our time together by noon.
This weekend includes drumming, dancing, smudging, honoring, journeying and deep heart connection. We will begin and end each day with drumming up and drumming down the sun. There will be free time to enjoy the nature and beautiful energies of Camp Knutson. We will be in nature as much as possible, which of course, depends upon the weather spirits!
